Production Manager
Lead a skilled technical production team in Aulum, driving structure, quality, delivery, and shipping flow in a stable renewable energy production setup.
About the job
Do you want to lead a skilled technical production team where structure, quality, and reliable delivery are visible in the final product?
At Opoura, we work with technology for the renewable energy sector. Our solutions combine software, hardware, and technical expertise, helping customers operate and control wind farms, solar parks, battery systems, and other renewable energy installations.
At our production site in Aulum, we produce and configure technical hardware, including cabinets, panels, and equipment used in renewable energy projects. We are now looking for a Production Manager to lead a production and warehouse team of around 7–10 people, depending on order intake.
The team is skilled, and the production setup is stable. Your task will be to bring clear daily leadership, strengthen structure and follow-up, and take ownership of how production, warehouse, and shipping work together to deliver on time and at the right quality level.
Your role
As Production Manager, you will lead the daily work across production, warehouse, and shipping in Aulum. You will set direction, prioritize work, follow up on progress, and make sure the team has the structure, information, and support needed to deliver.
This is a visible leadership role in a smaller technical production environment. In a Danish production context, it is close to a modern “værkfører” role with full people management responsibility, but it is not a hands-on production role. Your role is to lead, prioritize, follow up, and support the team in taking responsibility, not to become an extra pair of hands in production or warehouse.
You will work closely with planning, procurement, hardware engineering, client project management, and software operations. A key part of the role is to keep priorities clear, use ERP and production data in follow-up, and coordinate practical delivery topics such as packing, shipping, freight quotations, customs clearance support, and production-related customer clarifications when needed.
The role is primarily onsite in Aulum. Occasional administrative home working can be agreed, but your impact will come from being present with the team. Working hours are mainly daytime, typically early morning to afternoon, with some flexibility during peak periods.
Your main responsibilities
Lead production and warehouse employees through clear priorities, daily presence, follow-up, development dialogues, absence follow-up, and performance dialogue.
Ensure stable production and warehouse execution by creating structure, prioritizing daily and upcoming work, and following up until tasks are completed.
Secure delivery performance by keeping deadlines visible and coordinating closely with relevant colleagues.
Own quality in both function and visual workmanship, with focus on professional finish, consistency, and a zero snag list at customer handover.
Follow up on utilization, capacity, staffing, internal time, billable time, and production progress.
Own coordination of shipping-related activities, including packing and shipping coordination, freight quotations, customs clearance support, and alignment with relevant internal stakeholders.
Support production- and delivery-related customer dialogue when needed, mainly regarding status, quality, shipping, or practical clarifications, in close collaboration with client project management.
To be successful in this position, you
You are a visible and decisive leader who likes clear ownership and practical results. You are present with the team, set direction, make decisions, and follow up without becoming dictating or taking responsibility away from others.
You succeed when the team has direction, knows what matters most, and feels supported in delivering high-quality work. You do not avoid conflict, and you can address absence, performance, quality, or prioritization issues directly and respectfully.
You keep focus on quality, deadlines, utilization, employee motivation, and delivery flow, also when priorities change.
Your background
You have experience leading people in a production environment and know how to create structure, quality, and progress in daily operations. You are practical, clear in your communication, and comfortable leading skilled employees who know their craft.
We imagine that you bring:
Experience with people management in a production environment.
Practical understanding of technical production, workflow, quality, and problem solving.
Experience with production planning, resource planning, capacity follow-up, and daily execution.
A strong quality mindset, including attention to functional quality, visual finish, and professional workmanship.
Fluent Danish and a high professional level of English.
Experience with ERP systems, preferably Business Central or Navision, is an advantage.
Experience from electrical production, panel building, cabinet build, machine building, wind, automation, or similar technical production is preferred, but not required. A background as an electrician, marine engineer, automation technologist, production technologist, or similar can be relevant.
Experience with shipping coordination, freight, customs clearance, or customer-related delivery dialogue is an advantage, but not a requirement.
