About the job
We're on a growth journey, driven by deep knowledge and skilled colleagues shaping the future of energy. Together, we deliver smart, scalable solutions that help our clients succeed in the energy transition. Do you want to be part of igniting what's next in energy? Join us.
At Opoura, our Hardware Engineering team designs and delivers electrical hardware solutions that support our SCADA systems for renewable energy assets. We work closely with Solution Engineering, Project Management, and Production to ensure that what we design is compliant, manufacturable, and aligned with real project requirements.
We are now looking for an Electrical Hardware Engineer to join our team in Aulum. You will work with electrical hardware design, documentation, and cost calculations, supporting both project delivery and early solution development.
Your role
The role focuses on designing electrical hardware solutions for SCADA and control systems used in renewable energy projects. You will ensure that designs meet applicable standards and are practical to implement in real project environments.
You will work across both sales and project phases, contributing to scope definition, technical clarification, and execution. This includes collaborating with Sales and Solution Engineering during early stages and supporting Project Management and Production during delivery.
The role requires a structured and practical approach to engineering work, with attention to detail and the ability to balance technical requirements with cost, quality, and delivery considerations.
Your main responsibilities as our Electrical Hardware Engineer will be:
In this role, you are responsible for delivering compliant and well-documented electrical hardware solutions. This includes:
Designing electrical hardware solutions for SCADA and control systems in accordance with applicable EU directives (e.g., 2014/35/EU – Low Voltage Directive, 2014/30/EU – EMC Directive) and harmonized standards such as IEC 61439.
Creating and maintaining electrical documentation, including technical specifications, FAT, SAT, and maintenance documentation
Developing and maintaining Bills of Materials and supporting cost calculations based on project-specific requirements
Supporting Sales and Solution Engineering with technical input and hardware scope definition during early project phases
Collaborating with Project Management and Production to ensure timely delivery and resolve hardware-related challenges
Contributing to continuous improvement of hardware standards, documentation, and design practices
To be successful in this position, you:
Success in this role comes from combining technical understanding with a practical and structured approach to engineering work. You take ownership of your tasks and ensure that solutions are both compliant and feasible to deliver.
You typically:
Take responsibility for your deliverables and follow up on dependencies across stakeholders
Translate technical requirements into practical and implementable hardware solutions
Maintain high quality and consistency in documentation and design work
Balance technical correctness with cost, feasibility, and delivery constraints
Work independently while collaborating closely with colleagues across functions
Your background
You bring experience from electrical engineering or hardware design and are motivated by working with real systems in project environments. You are comfortable working with both detailed design and cross-functional collaboration.
We expect that you:
Have around 3+ years of experience within electrical hardware engineering or similar roles
Have experience with electrical schematics and hardware design tools (e.g. E-Plan, See Electrical or similar)
Have experience working with industrial standards and compliance requirements
Have experience preparing technical documentation and working with Bills of Materials
Have a relevant educational background such as Electrical Engineer, Marine Engineer, Electrical Installer, or similar
Experience from renewable energy, SCADA, automation, or related industries is an advantage.
