Power Systems Engineer
Design and optimize grid connections for wind, solar, and hybrid power plants. Solve complex challenges with PSS/E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT, and ensure grid compliance.
About the job
We’re seeking a skilled and proactive Power Systems Engineer to join our Control & Communication department. In this role, you’ll play a key part in designing and integrating grid connection solutions for power plants — including wind, solar, and hybrid energy systems — ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory standards. If you thrive on solving complex grid integration challenges and collaborating across teams, this is the opportunity for you.
Key responsibilities
- Design and optimize grid connection solutions for power plants.
- Conduct power system modeling and simulations using tools like PSS/E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT, and Simscape Electrical.
- Ensure compliance with local and international grid codes and industry regulations.
- Analyze grid connection requirements and develop tailored solutions when standard products don’t fully meet project needs.
- Collaborate with control engineers to integrate grid connection designs with control strategies.
- Support grid interconnection studies and create technical documentation.
- Provide technical expertise to resolve grid integration challenges.
- Engage with utilities, Transmission System Operators (TSOs), and regulatory bodies to ensure grid compliance.
Your background
- Proven experience in power systems engineering — particularly in grid connection design.
- Expertise in power system modeling and analysis tools (e.g., PSS/E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT, Simscape Electrical).
- Strong understanding of grid codes and regulatory requirements.
- Proactive mindset with a problem-solving approach to grid integration challenges.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with engineers and project teams.
- Structured, analytical approach to problem-solving and project execution.
- Ability to deliver projects on time without compromising quality or compliance.
